Rock Types Overview
Igneous Rocks - formed from the crystalization and solidification of molten earth materials (magma).
Sedementry Rocks - formed from the consolidated pieces of weathered and eroded materials - includes precipitation from water or cool fluids passing thru the rocks.
Metamorphic Rocks - Rocks changed from other types by heat and/or pressure without melting - includes the actions of hot fluids passing thru the rocks.
